Greens Update

With the current weather in place and the forecast to remain damp & cold with the potential of a dusting of sleet & snow towards next weekend, I feel it’s time to ask members to carry their clubs rather than using a golf trolley, please don’t shout at me, it’s not me Honest! blame god, so if you are able to do so please carry, it will help immensely on the softer ground  & the course in general if less trollies were used, so please if you are able to, carry a bag.

Also we are planning to hold the Greens forum on 21st December (Wednesday at 7pm) appreciate this is a bit close to Christmas and maybe a tad late, but it really is the earliest time available due to my extensive work commitments. (I can hear Messrs Wild, Rodwell & Boyle now!) feel free to attend, we will be discussing all things concerning the course, (as you would expect I suppose.)

Out on the course this week the guys have been busy on training courses, Chainsaw usage require licences,  Reilly has got his school head on trying get his head round the requirements to pass the assessments. The drain at the side of the 18th is being relayed, all our machines have been deep cleaned, the dew is being cleared off the greens daily, holes are being rotated on the greens & tree work is continuing, with the guys branching out to the conifers around the course, we hope to have some news soon on the Conifers / Leylandii  to the side of the 4th tee in the coming weeks which is a big piece of work.

Great to see the club busy last Friday for the World Cup game against the U.S of A. shame about the boring 0-0 result, but at least we got the win against the Welshish, with all eyes now on Sunday evenings game against Senegal, its live in the club house so, get yourselves down, it’ll be a great atmosphere, and the food trucks here again, I’m sure those who got something to eat last week agree it’s good grub & hopefully an England win to takes us to the Q/Finals. fingers crossed.

Until next time.
