Day-to-day management of bar service, cellar management and “Front of House”
Main Purpose of Job
To provide best possible levels of service and present a positive flexible approach to meet members expectations. Be committed to help the club grow and succeed.
Front of House/Cleanliness and Maintenance
Provide a friendly welcome to members, guests and visitors. Ensure the bar area and clubhouse is clean and report defects to the General Manager. Maintain bar equipment and provide cellar/line cleaning as per best practice.
Manage cash and card payments, automated till daily reconciliation with the treasurer, cash reconciliation and control of till floats. Use purchasing procedure to order stock, provide efficient stock control, regularly review products and deliver agreed bar gross margin. Promote club activities i.e. 200 club, ticket sales and raffles etc.
Provide staff rota’s and manage performance. Ensure staff always receive appropriate training and behave in a professional manner. Responsible for bar staff recruitment with numbers and rates of pay to be agreed with the General Manager. Ensure work is performed in a safe manner as per current Health and Safety legislation.
Responsible for clubhouse security including operation of the alarm.
Comply with Environmental Health and Health and Safety requirements. There will also be a requirement to obtain a license to sell alcohol.
