Accrington & District Golf Club are looking to recruit an Apprentice Golf Greenkeeper to assist in the day-to-day set up and maintenance of the course, all the related practice facilities and planted areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with a keen interest in golf and greenkeeping.
The role is varied and would include:
- Cutting greens and fairways
- Top dressing and treating turf
- Renovating and maintaining bunkers
- Maintaining practice area
- General maintenance work
Our ideal candidate would live locally, be keen to learn, hardworking, reliable and have some interest in greenkeeping. Being a golfer would be advantageous although not essential.
Hours of work are 37.5 hours per week, typically between 7.30 and 3pm with some weekend work required. You will be paid the national minimum wage dependant on age; this will be reviewed throughout the apprenticeship and may increase depending on performance and progression.
You will be expected to work towards a Level 2 Golf Greenkeeping Apprenticeship, this will take 24 months to complete. This is a work-based programme using blended learning technologies delivered by Myerscough College.
Qualification requirement is minimum 4 GCSE’s at grade D/3 including maths and English.
