We hope you are all keeping well and looking forward to the re-opening of the course on the 29th March. Both of us are hoping to see as many of you as we can out on the course and back in the Clubhouse when it reopens.
As with every business, the pandemic has hit hard and for charities in particular, this has meant a huge drop in their opportunity to fundraise. We are of course very aware that our own Club has also undergone financial difficulties and we would like to take this opportunity to thank the Board of Directors and everyone connected with the Club for all the hard work in keeping the Club going over some very difficult months. If you haven’t already done so, please try to renew your subscription (especially whilst the early bird offer is still on) and thank you if you have already done so. Your support has always been fantastic.
Many of you will already be aware of Rosemere Cancer Trust, whether through personal connection or by supporting the charity through previous captains fundraising at the Club. We would just like to offer our sincere thanks for all the support you have given to Rosemere for the past few years.
So for 2021, it is our intention to hold a one off Open 4-Ball Team Charity Competition Day on Monday 13th September 2021 in aid of our chosen charity of Rosemere Cancer Trust and we would be delighted if as many of you as possible would please enter a team, help with the fundraising and come along and support us on the day. The format will be similar to that of last year with prizes in all categories; Men’s, Ladies & Mixed. The entry fee will be £20 per person (£80/Team). Prizes will include 4-Ball Vouchers for some fantastic golf clubs, along with drinks and chocolate hampers and other super gifts.
After discussion at the Board meeting on Wednesday 17th March 2021, we are delighted that the Club Directors have given us their full support and backing by offering waver the facility fee for the day and for all the funds raised in the name of Rosemere to be solely donated to the Charity as this is our one chosen charity event for our year of captaincy. In previous years the club has capped the donation amount at £1500 for monies raised throughout that year but “for one day only” we would like to raise as much as we can for the charity, and for the remainder of the year all monies raised will go to the Club. I know the vast majority of members will back this but if any member wishes to raise any question or objection to this, please could you contact either of us, any of the Directors and/or Paul Wright General Manager before the club reopens on March 29th, as we will need to confirm our intentions on the advertisements etc.
We want to reassure all the members that we will of course also be doing all we can to support and get our Club back up and thriving throughout our year, so if you have any ideas that we could use for Club fundraising, please let either of us know; whether that be a fun competition on the course and or a social event, we are keen to hear your suggestions.
