Lady Presidents Day

The lady Presidents day was held in June and luckily for the 30 ladies who competed, the weather

was good and a lovely day was enjoyed by all. The eventual winner of the Trophy and Lady

Presidents Prize was Carol Done. The golf was followed by a meal for 50 people and live entertainment

and disco. The social was one of many held through the year.

The Lady President would like to offer her sincere thanks to everyone that contributed to

the day by playing or supporting her to achieve a very successful and enjoyable occasion.

Active and Friendly

The Ladies section of the Club, although small in number with only 45 playing ladies, is nevertheless very active and friendly. We have 3 players in single figures, one of those being Nikki Foster who at almost 15 years of age plays off a handicap of 4 and has been selected to join the England Select Squad and has represented Lancashire on a number of occasions. We have teams in the Handicap and Bronze Leagues, Mail on Sunday, Daily Mail, singles knock out, foursomes knock out and mixed knock out, so these keep us busy.

We have a full programme throughout the season, playing our medal rounds from April till September and have a Winter League on Tuesdays and Weekends through the Winter months. The Ladies also run Open Events for both Ladies and Mixed Competitions.

There is a busy social side with events organised throughout the year, with our annual prize presentationat the en of October. In November the ladies perform in a Murder Mystery Evening when 120 members try to decide who the murderer is. In early December it will be our ladies Christmas Party and the Club hold social events over the festive season which are well attended and very enjoyable evenings.

The Ladies of Accrington Golf Club would make anyone who wishes to play golf, or join a really good social club very welcome.
