Overview

Accrington Golf Club is an excellent club and course, with stunning views in a lovely setting. The Ladies section is warm, friendly, thriving and very active. We have 53 members, and a good mix of low, medium and higher handicappers. These include 2 single figure handicappers. Nikki Foster, whilst Pkeasington is her home Club is still a member at Accrington. She is part of the England squad and in 2011 qualified for the Ladies British Open. We are a very competitive club, and are pleased to have sufficient players who want to play competitively, whilst also recognising the place for less competitive players.

We play in numerous external Lancashire, East Lancashire and Manchester & District competitions. We have had a good degree of success over the years. Competitions include:

Our Ladies competition day is Tuesday, although early and late in the golf calendar we play at weekends. We have a full and varied programme of competitions throughout the year. We play qualifying competitions from late March to mid October. We also have a winter league from Oct to March playing on Tuesdays and Weekends. The ladies also run several Open Ladies and Mixed competitions. See separate page for full list and entry conditions.

The Golf club has a very busy social scene throughout the year, with the Ladies section heavily involved eg Murder Mystery Night (actors from the ladies section), Sportswoman’s Evening, Summer Ball, Charity Evening, Xmas Parties, Annual Dinner, Quizzes etc. These are all very well attended , excellent nights.

We welcome and encourage all types of new members to our very friendly Ladies section
